Highly Specialized Veterinary Emergency Building

As a key component of Denmark's veterinary emergency preparedness, LINK Arkitektur was responsible for developing an advanced laboratory building for the Statens Serum Institute (SSI), meeting very stringent requirements for security, isolation, and functionality. The emergency building, designed to Biosafety Level 3+ (BSL 3+), supports the rapid and efficient handling of serious infectious diseases in livestock, both confined and free-range, thereby contributing to the safety and stability of Denmark's food sector—a vital part of the country's economy and export.

Experts in Pharmaceutical and Laboratory Environments

LINK's architects specialize in buildings for the pharmaceutical and laboratory sectors, with in-depth knowledge of legislation and technical requirements for emergency preparedness facilities. The project for SSI includes secure laboratories at BSL 3+ level (OIE 4/GMO 2), where critical work is carried out to identify and control dangerous animal diseases. The building is designed to withstand extreme scenarios, featuring overpressure and air environment reset using gas, which protects both staff and the environment.

Emergency Preparedness and Isolation Technology

The building's "hermetically sealed" design ensures it is completely isolated from its surroundings, a necessity when working with infectious agents. This isolation is essential to meet the highest-level veterinary emergency preparedness requirements.

With extensive experience in designing pharmaceutical, emergency, and laboratory facilities, LINK Arkitektur ensures excellent solutions tailored to demanding technical specifications and standards for safety and infection control.
